The Straight 8 Rock Drum Pattern:
In this lesson, we will be working on our musicianship by practicing playing drum patterns in time and to a metronome. Being able to play various rhythmic patterns is a fundamental skill needed by all musicians and recording professionals. Remember practice makes perfect!
To follow along with the drum patterns, here is a grid demonstrating which lines / spaces each of the sounds for a drum kit will be shown on.
After practicing and mastering to perform the first drum pattern, move onto the next lesson to develop this skill further.
Remember: You should be practicing between 15 and 20 minutes each and every day.
